Federal grant enhances school

12/12/2012

Bald Hills State School received a $47,000.00 federal government grant through the Empowering Local Schools program. The grant is to be used to enhance the adoption of a teaching framework across the school community through the use of new media.

An advisory board will be established early in 2013 to advise the school on the use of video casting, social networking and the school’s website to communicate to parents and caregivers, students and staff to build knowledge about effective teaching, as well as other important aspects of the school.

Also being considered is a pilot to enable students and parents to communicate electronically about what is being learned in the classroom. This would consider ways feedback on learning can be facilitated between the student and home.
