Despite the restrictions due to COVID, we had an excellent turn out for our Prep Play and Stays for the incoming 2022 Prep students. With our first event enabling parents and children to share some time in the classroom, our second Play and Stay was an opportunity for parents to gather some information about the importance of resilience, independence, fine and gross motor skills and oral language for a great start to school. Thank you to our Prep Teachers and to Lisa Smith (Speech and Language Therapist) and Sonya Kerrigan (Support Teacher Literacy and Numeracy) for enabling our incoming Bald Hills Prep families to feel supported in their journey to school.
Excitingly, whilst our 2022 Prep students got familiar with our Prep classrooms, our current Preps got to transition up to the Year One classrooms! There was a lot of excited chatter about the difference between Prep and Year One. Our own desks? Tidy trays? So many new experiences to look forward too!
Our final Play and Stay will occur after the Prep Enrolment Interviews, and the final event will see our new Preppies in Prep, our current Preps in Year One and our current Year Ones transitioning up to Year Two for the morning.
