Bald Hills State School staff offer our students opportunities to engage with the Australian Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities & Social Sciences (HASS), Health & Physical Activity (HPE), The Arts – including Classroom Music, and Technologies. These subjects are offered to students from Preparatory Year to Year Six, and in addition, we undertake learning in German language across Years Four, Five and Six.
Teachers have developed units in each of these subjects, an outline of which is contained in each Year Level’s Curriculum Overview.
Our weekly timetable prioritises morning Literacy and Numeracy lessons, as well as promoting coordinated teacher team planning time. During planning meetings we build on teaching experience and talent to select the best approaches for the range of learners in each year level and to review the unit alignment to the Australian Curriculum. Teams are supported in and out of the classroom by a wide range of professionals including Teacher Aides, Learning Support Teachers, Special Education Teachers, pedagogy coaches, IT specialists, and lead educators and administrators.
Parents and caregivers can see a description of each Year Level’s planned learning in a term-by-term curriculum newsletter. Please download your child’s newsletter from the table below. Newsletters from previous years will give you a sense of content for the approaching term.
